How can you put a free suit on an American hero?

Suiting Our Veteran Heroes for Success

Preparing Veterans for the Transition from Military Life to Civilian Success

Farmingdale, NJ: Bridging The Gap, based out of New Jersey, and Suiting Warriors, based out of Delaware, have proudly partnered together to help transitioning military Veterans prepare to enter the workforce of America. Suiting Warriors will provide free suits to all Veterans that attend the Career Transition Boot Camp events provided by Bridging The Gap.

It is disheartening to see our American heroes give so much for their country, yet face so many struggles once they return home for good. Something as simple as basic business attire to start attending job interviews is one of them. “When asked, [Veterans] talked about their financial difficulties since being discharged from the military. Not one of them owned a set of dress blues or even a suit. I found this to be extremely disturbing,” states Star Lotta, Suiting Warriors founder. This is where Mike Ferraro, President of Bridging The Gap saw an opportunity to perfectly incorporate Suiting Warriors’ mission with their existing Career Transition Boot Camp seminars. Bridging The Gap has been running their boot camp events to help prepare and coach Veterans on how to write resumes, brand themselves as they apply for jobs and get up-to-date on current expectations from employers. They also provide a speed-interviewing session between Veteran-friendly employers and the Veterans at each boot camp, which have led to several second interviews and hires. Bringing in Suiting Warriors to help provide personalized business attire for these Veterans was a “natural fit.”

How these two nonprofit organizations complete their mission together:

  • Bridging The Gap provides the Career Transition Boot Camps every month
  • Veterans pre-register online for the boot camp event at where they can input their measurements for a suit
  • Suiting Warriors brings the suits to the Career Transition Boot Camp, tailored to the Veterans’ submitted measurements for the Veteran to take home with them

Employers and donors can support this cause by either becoming a featured employer at the monthly boot camp events or donating online at
